I was bummed to read about Trent losing the yellow jersey. Still, you have to hand it to him - "the smurf" is riding super strong.

Interestingly, I was watching the finish on Cycling TV and I remember one of the commentators saying how Trent shouldn't bother about Sivtsov because he was that much further back on GC. Well... Was he really?

JV,

Got your twitter; man, it's just the bad breaks today. I'm sure you, the team, and Trent did all you could! They always say football's a game of inches, but I think seconds in cycling are more heartbreaking.

I know it's been a rough week with Timmy's crash and all; your essay the other day made it clear to me your commitment to this sport and the team. Keep it up, all of you!

Tough one to swallow, boys, no two ways about it. Live and learn I guess. When the dust clears, still a great result, and great work by the team to stay in the hunt.

JV, how could you guys not know that Siutsou was only 6 seconds down? I was screaming at my computer for Trent to go after him and stop watching Levi run out of gas. It looked like Trent could have won the stage if he would have just attacked in the last few hundred meters instead of focusing on Levi. Maybe he was cooked too. Oh well, great result anyway. Maybe there are time bonuses available tomorrow.

Nice job Trent, staying up there with Levi. Anybody else notice that Svein Tuft was wearing Slipstream gloves, or was I seeing things?
