A quiet peloton gathered early this morning under a slow, cold drizzle to compete in the first of a two-stage day of day two of Circuit Cycliste Sarthe. A three-man break animated most of the stage. The fugitives were caught just before the finish by a handful of riders with the main peloton only 3″ back.

Stay tuned to this afternoon’s time trial for a real GC shake up and hopefully some action from Christian Vande Velde.
