If you have ever ridden a bicycle, you have a near-miss or angry motorist story to tell. It’s just inevitable in a society where the car is king and anything—or anyone—else is an obstacle.
David Zabriskie hopes to change that with Yield to Life.
“As a professional cyclist I have ridden my bike all over the world,” says David. “But, sadly, each of the three times that I have been hit by a car has been in the United States.”
Yield to Life is a non-profit organization engaged in a vigorous nationwide awareness campaign to promote positive attitudes toward cyclists, replacing any hostility that exists between motorists and cyclists with understanding, respect, and appreciation for all life on the road. Safety for every cyclist is the top priority of Yield to Life.
Since cyclists’ lives are often in motorists’ hands, motorists must understand the vital role they play in a cyclist’s safety. David says it better than any one.
“We all travel life’s roads. When you see a cyclist on the road, please, yield to life.”

DZ i’m with you! Share the roads!
Good stuff matey!
I’m a US expat in the UK now. The Brits do share the roads a bit better, maybe because the roads are so narrow, blind, and congested, but the shenanigans still exist.
1 cyclist hit by a car is too many.
I’ll pass the word on.
Cheers
I hope David’s initiative is going to make a difference. I made a donation today and added the donation button to my blog post about Yield to Life at Velodramatic.com
