Peter Stetina, Redlands prologue Yesterday our team put in solid performances with Peter (right) and Tom in 8th and 13th respectively. Way to go guys! VMG/Felt U23 rider Peter is showing some great form coming off his 2nd place in the San Dimas prologue last week.

Tom certainly was on a good ride considering he had to get back on his bike in the middle of the prologue after he came in too hot for a left hander still in the TT bars. We had a discussion last night and concluded brakes weren’t necessary for that turn. Maybe that was the case at everyone else’s speed. Luckily, Tom came out of it uninjured.

Tomorrow is the first road stage, a 138k circuit race with a decent climb on each of the five laps. It’s a new course so nobody knows what to expect. It’s long enough that attrition will play a factor, yet short enough that it will be aggressive from the start.

A little inside local knowledge even tells us that there are few sections where wind can be a factor. A very narrow park entrance right before the climb will make positioning at that point paramount. You can expect a nervous start and with a 200 rider field. Probably dangerous as well. Look for Slipstream on the front.
