Velonews reports on Taylor Phinney’s 8th place finish at the World Championships in Manchester.
His time of 4:22.358 lowered his PR by more than two seconds and was recorded as a new junior world record.

His performance should earn him an automatic nomination to the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team. Said Phinney: “When I came here I was wanting and expecting to ride under 4:20. But I’m happy with the time I rode and it should secure a spot for the Olympics.”
