The New York Times talks to the Phinney family about the challenges and and dreams they are living every day as they help Taylor Phinney succeed as one of American cycling’s young new talents and his father Davis battle the ravages of Parkinson’s disease.
Says an amazingly mature 17-year-old Taylor:
“The difference is not accepting that you will lose, just deciding not to give up.” He thanked his father for teaching him that. Taylor competes today at the World Track Championships in Manchester, England.
