Tyler Farrar, Castilla y Leon stage 2Sunny, warmer skies greeted the Argyle Armada this morning in Segovia where the 141.7 km stage started on cobbles.

Keeping their heads about them in what was a relatively controlled race, Slipstream/Chipotle’s Christian Vande Velde managed to chase down the final attack and put Tyler Farrar (left) in position to finish 6th in the sprint.

Farrar’s strong finish - on a hilly stage nonetheless - moved him up to 10th in GC, putting three of the boys in the top ten overall!

The team performed well and five of the seven riders finished with the front group allowing the team to move up to first place overall.
