With clear, sunny skies above and a looooooong road ahead, Will Frischkorn jumped in on the day’s break just 35 km into the nearly 300 km Milano-Sanremo. He was joined by three other riders, that eventually dwindled to two. The escapees stayed off the front, working the gap up to 16 minutes at one point. They were caught on the Cipressa - the second to last climb of the day.
Said a tired, happy Frischkorn: “For my first Milan-San Remo, I couldn’t have imagined a cooler day. Riding out front through the never-ending crowds and unreal scenery along the coast was an experience I won’t forget.”
“And for the powertap geeks out there, how’s 6600 kjs sound? Ouch!” Frischkorn continued. See the Clif Blog to find out how much Clif product he ate that day: “…3Mojo bars, 5 packs of Bloks, and at minimum 6 or so Shots, not to mention somewhere in the range of 15 bottles of Shot drink mix.”
“Now for a quick trip home and a few days of serious recovery.”
Stay tuned for full Slipstream/Chipotle results!

What happened to Tyler
Hello Thom - Tyler, along with four other Slipstream/Chipotle riders, didn’t finish MSR. Many of them used it as classics training and Tyler needed to save it up for Castilla y Leon, which starts tomorrow.
