In its 99th year, the 2008 Milano-Sanremo is the longest of all professional one-day cycling races and is known as “la classica di primavera”. Though the route includes the Poggio, Cipressa, and the ‘capi’ series of climbs, it is still known as a sprinters’ classic.
Taking place this year on Easter weekend, the race course was recently altered due to a landslide in January that closed the via Aurelia at Capo Noli. The race now goes over the 4.7 km Le Manie (318m) climb, adding another 4 km for a total of 298 km in the saddle!
The race starts at 9:45 am and finishes and is scheduled to finish between 4:30-5:15 pm.

Why isn’t Tyler Farrar in the squad? By far the fastest man in the team and my favourite Slipstream rider. Select him guys, he could be in the top 10.
Interesting squad, I hope David is over his illness and Maggy is ready to go. When is Cozza’s next race?
Joe - Cozza is on for the Vuelta Castilla y Leon which starts March 22 in Spain. Check out the stage info in our “Upcoming Events” listings.
Does Ryder have the rest of the month off?
Thanks Woody! Go Argyle!
Looking forward to the race this Saturday. Good luck and hoping to see a great showing from you guys. It is anyones race if there is a successful attack. However if it comes down to a sprint my money is on Oscar Freire he is in top form and when he is in top form he is almost unbeatable.
wow! without astana you’re the best by far!
