Today was horrible - very wet and very cold. I had my fastest crash ever, hitting the deck at 60+km/h on a straight descent. People in front of me went down and slid for what seemed like an infinite amount of time. Fortunately Rebellin, Sanchez, Schumacher, Bertognilli were there which meant we had a strong group to get back on.
I did not have much fun today. The only consolation was that the whole peloton had a horrible day, and most worse than mine. Snow is going to be added to the equation tomorrow in the final which will make it epic. Man this a mental race!

last two days racing weather looks like shit , eurosport says the same . you look fine ok . keep the faith weather will better . just think of sun , then nice .
Well, I guess California doesn’t look so bad after all.
Dave it is mental but you are up there with the best.
Brilliant both you and Trent.
But just to rub it in its been glorious in Aberdeenshire today.
Amazing comeback David after that crash! I hope the wet roads minimized your road rash and it will be the last of any bad luck in Paris-Nice. Everyone I know is very much enjoying your refreshing attitude and all-or-nothing riding style this year. It’s really a joy to watch and so nice to actually be talking about the racing instead of all the other crap so hard to ignore. Everything is crossed for you. Best of luck on Ventoux.
Brutal weather, brutal conditions and what sounds like a truly spectacular crash today. Survive and advance guys, survive and advance.
Just keep going. You’re an inspiration to everyone who ever made a mistake and had the courage to admit it.
Keep going David - one by one your GC rivals are falling by the wayside. We’re rooting for you and really hoping you can pull off the “big one” on the Ventoux…
Go Millar!!!
Allez Dave.
It’s the easy side of Ventoux anyway
