Despite losing the Amgen gold jersey, Slipstream/Chipotle wrapped up the most difficult stage of the 2008 Amgen Tour of California with strong overall results. Velonews.com reported on Tyler Farrar’s early departure from the 2008 Amgen Tour of California during stage 3. Farrar had to abandon after battling a stomach virus. Team director Jonathan Vaughters said some kind of bug had been going around, and that team rider Steven Cozza had it earlier in the week.
