Southern France came through with a gorgeous bout of good weather, setting the tone for a solid day of racing in the Haut Var region, 60K outside of Nice. For some of us, it was just a good training day. For others it was a chance to fly the blue and orange on French soil.

Myself, I covered moves for the first half of the race. But after having dug deep the day before in Italy, I decided to call it a day. Since I would be starting the Volta a Valencia on Tuesday in Spain, it seemed smart to save a little bit. I pulled out at about 150K of the 200K race and cheered on the remaining four-Will, Huub, Christophe, and Ryder.

The best Slipstream move of the day was when Ryder made the front group of 20 with all the big dogs in the race. Unfortunately, there were some shady tactics and things got shuffled around a bit for the finish.

ROn to Valencia while the others make their way up north for the start of the spring classics. Check back for updates from the land of the oranges. Ciao for now - Lucas
