October 15, 2007 - Chihuahua, Mexico - Steven Cozza claimed the first professional victory of his career soloing home to take Stage 6 of the Vuelta a Chihuahua in Mexico on Saturday. Cozza and 7 other riders broke free from the main bunch after just 6 km of the 120 km stage. Cozza then repeatedly attacked the group to go alone and finish just 4 seconds clear of his breakaway companions to take the win. The team then rode the 7th and final stage to preserve their efforts of earlier in the week and bring everyone home safe. At the end of the day Slipstream took home a number of respectable results. The best being another 1st place overall in the Team Classification, an award they claimed at the Tour of Missouri not a month ago. Timmy Duggan and Lucas Euser both cracked the top 10 in the final overall, with a 4th and 7th respectively. Cozza was third overall in the Points Competition, and Lucas Euser took home third in the Mountains Competition.
The Vuelta a Chihuahua caps the season for the Slipstream-Chipotle boys, who finished with a good head of steam to take a positive feeling into the off season.
