Danny Pate takes stage win at Missouri!

September 15, 2007 - St. Charles, Missouri - Team Slipstream-Chipotle continues to ride strong in Missouri with Danny Pate taking the win in Saturday’s 204 km stage from Jefferson City to St. Charles. Pate joined a group of nine that rode off the front of the peloton with nearly 100 miles remaining in the stage. The group stayed together until late in the day when two riders went clear to try for the line on their own. However, Pate attacked the remnants of the early day’s break and went across the gap to the two leaders on his own. After catching them, he went again with just over a kilometer remaining to cross the line solo. This win is added icing to the cake of an already impressive ride at the inaugural Tour of Missouri for the Slipstream-Chipotle squad. With just one day remaining, a circuit race in downtown St. Louis, the team currently has 2 riders in the top 5 on GC, the top 2 spots in the Best Young Rider competition, and a firm hold on the Team Classification.
