Parisien continues aggressive and strong riding in Beauce criterium

June 16, 2007 – Saint-Georges, Quebec – Friday evening showcased the excellent race organization and strong teams of the Tour de Beauce to the local fans, with the traditional downtown Saint-Georges criterium.

Team Slipstream/Chipotle’s Francois Parisien – who spent Wednesday and Thursday climbing onto the podium at the finish of each stage, and who turned in a fine 8th place time trial earlier Friday – jumped into a formidable 5-man breakaway early in the race.

The combination seemed like it might work as with 20km left, the break had taken half a lap out of the field. Unfortunately the break was caught on the final lap by the sprinters’ teams. Danny Pate finished 13th in the field sprint.
