March 07, 2007 - Fayt-le-Franc, Belgium - Yesterday Team Slipstream rolled out onto the roads of Belgium for it’s first European race of the 2007 season. The 39th edition of Memorial Samyn was 191 km on the flat, narrow country roads around Fayt-le-Franc; the race finished with a lead group of almost 30 riders sprinting for the win.
Team Slipstream’s young Dutchman, Huub Duyn, was top finisher on the day, making the lead group and ending up as 12th place in the sprint. Duyn’s teammate Benny Johnson (AUS) finished in a small group that trailed just 17 seconds behind the leaders.
