February 06, 2007 - As the 2007 Tour de Langkawi has almost reached it’s midway point, Team Slipstream continues to make progress, both learning the ropes in a huge international race, and in coming close to scoring a stage win.

There have been three sprint-finish stages and one big climbing stage thus far - and thanks to the large, diverse international field of racers, and the incredibly hot weather, Team Slipstream has been suffering in the heat, avoiding crashes, getting into breakaways, and sprinting for the finish. Or, as Brad Huff summed up the race thus far: “HOT, CRAZY SPRINTS, HOT, STUPID SPRINTS, NEARLY CRASH EVERYDAY, HOT, 60 spf sunscreen put on with a spackle every day.”

VeloNews editor Jason Sumner is covering the Tour de Langkawi and had the opportunity to hang out with Team Slipstream prior to, during, and after Monday’s Stage 5. His fascinating and detailed report on the team’s experience at the race can be found at: VeloNews.com
